About the Calendar
The OSU Calendar runs on the Localist platform by Concept3D and allows students, employees, and the community to submit, view, and subscribe to event information. It is the primary location for finding information on Oklahoma State University events.
Some of the Localist calendar benefits:
- Ability to search for specific events.
- Ability to filter and view events by categories, including audience, academic college, department, experience type, etc.
- Marketing functions, including the ability to subscribe to emails or push notifications for events, hashtags, and the event’s website.

Using the Calendar
- How do I find events?
Navigate to your campus’ Localist calendar. Use the search bar to locate specific events or a group/department to see all of the events on the Department/Group’s event landing page. Users can also tailor event results using filters such as Event Type, Audience, or Date. There are also explore tabs available for browsing all "Upcoming" or "Trending" events.

- How do I add an event to my personal calendar?
Navigate to the event details page for the event you want to add to your calendar. Select the “Add to calendar” button, and options for adding to your Google, iCal, and Outlook calendars will be available to select. Users can also subscribe to any Filtered pages or Event Details Pages.
- How do I create a direct link to an event's detail page?
Each event has a unique URL, and recurring events are also all located at the same URL. To share the URL, copy the URL from your browser's address bar while viewing the event's detail page.
Submitting Events
- How do I log in?
If you have an OSU Okey account, please use your Okey login credentials. If you are trying to log in using a service account, service accounts are not authorized for use in Localist. If you are a community member, you can create an account to log into Localist to submit pending events for the OSU calendar.
- How do I submit an event?
Navigate to your campus’ calendar. Log in using your Okey account. Navigate to your campus’ event submission form by selecting the “Submit an event” button next to your profile photo on the top navigation, or the bottom of the campus’ events homepage.
Once you have submitted your event, it is pending approval by the calendar admin for the area to which you submitted your event.
- What type of image should I submit with my event?
- The image should be a high-quality image related to the event; ideally, it’s an image from that event in the past.
- The image should be a rectanglar, with sizing at minimum 940x557 to potentially accommodate being used in the various use cases below that are used
across the platform:
- Featured: 940px x 557px
- Small Card: 290px x 200px
- Medium Card: 450px x 200px
- Large Card: 478px x 310px
- The maximum supported size is 5000 x 5000px (or 10MB).
- Accepted Formats: PNG, JPG, and GIF.
- The image should not be a flyer or text-heavy for digital accessibility and cropping, as mentioned above. Any text within a flyer/image should be included in the event submission instead of using an image.
- Images must follow OSU’s terms of service.
- What if I can't find my building?
Building lists are imported from facilities management and will be periodically updated. If a campus building is missing from the building list, please contact Brand Management at calendar@okstate.edu.
Localist also has the option to add an address, and instead of a campus map embed, a Google Map embed will populate the event’s details page.
- How do I update an event after it has been submitted?
Navigate to your campus’ calendar. Log in using your Okey account. If the event has been approved, you can search for it in the search bar.
If not, and you are the event owner, you can navigate to your dashboard by selecting the Dashboard link in the dropdown next to your profile photo at the top navigation. Once on your dashboard, locate the event you want to edit under the Pending Events header.
After you have located your event, visit its details page. If you are the event owner or a manager of the calendar to which it’s been submitted, you should have the option to edit the event under the Events Tools header.
After editing your event, it will reenter the event submission queue for the edits to be approved by the calendar manager. Once approved, the edits will be live on the event’s details page.
Calendar Administration
- How do I request access to the calendar?
If you are a student, staff, or faculty member, you automatically have access to log in to your campus calendar and submit events. However, users can only log in and submit events to the campus they are associated with.
To request calendar approver access, please email the web team at calendar@okstate.edu.
- How do I request a new department or group?
Please submit a request to the web team by using our Department/Group request form.
- How do I cancel/delete an event?
Navigate to your campus’ calendar. Log in using your Okey account. If the event has been approved, you can search for it in the search bar. If not, and you are the event owner, you can navigate to your dashboard by selecting the dropdown next to your profile photo on the top navigation, and locate the event you want to edit under the Pending Events header.
After you have located your event, visit its details page. If you are the event owner or a manager of the calendar to which it’s been submitted, you should have the option to edit the event under the Events Tools header. Here, you can delete the event or edit its status.
If your event hasn’t been approved, you can delete it. If your event has been approved, we do not recommend deleting it; instead, you should change its status to Canceled, Postponed, or Sold Out.
- How do I approve a submitted event?
Events may only be approved by one of the calendar’s event approvers. If you are one of the calendar’s event approvers, log in to your campus calendar on Localist and visit the administrative dashboard by selecting the Administration link in the dropdown next to your profile photo on the top navigation.
Select Pending Events from the dashboard or the side navigation under the events icon. If the event is visible on your dashboard, you can approve it or deny it. If you are denying the event, we recommend adding comments explaining why it has been rejected or reaching out directly to the user who submitted it.
- How do I add a map link (off-campus event)?
Localist also has the option to add an address. If an off-campus location is inputted, instead of a campus map embed, a Google Map embed will auto-populate on the event’s details page.
Development and Integration
- What feed options are available for published calendars?
Feed options are available by filter options, including experiences, locations, groups, departments, event types, audiences, academic colleges, and tags. Feeds can be configured to include one or many of these filter options to display events that match those filters. Feeds can also be configured by the number of results, the number of days out, only featured events, only sponsored events, and options for filter matching.
- How do I insert a calendar feed onto a page in ModernCampus(formerly known as Omni)
